![]() ![]() The idea of the Pokémon using their abilities in different situations is rather well implemented, but given the scope of the game, feels very limited. In addition, certain Pokémon may be weak to certain elements, just like in the core series games. You can dash and perform simple melee attacks, charged moves and shake moves (which is handy for dispatching of several enemies at a time). These are really only different in name and elements, activated by the same controls and having more or less the same effects. Battles, on the other hand, have the Pokémon using three techniques. These abilities are also used during the few platforming sequences the game has, although swapping between the Pokémon can be a little jarring and disrupt the flow of the level. During exploration, Oshawott can swim, Tepig can charge through certain rocks and unlock certain doors, and Snivy can jump higher and run faster than the others. You play as Pikachu, Oshawott, Snivy and Tepig, swapping between them whenever their unique abilities are required. ![]() Well, that’s what I’m hoping anyway, because the gameplay is very simplistic. The story is as predictable as it sounds, which is forgivable if you consider that the title is aimed at children. ![]() With Piplup trapped in Wish Park, Pikachu vows to free him and the other trapped Pokémon with the help of Oshawott, Snivy and Tepig, who join him along the way. It’s a more sinister place than it initially seems, as Pokémon who enter Wish Park are unable to leave. PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond is the newest game in the series and another one of the titles to change Pokémon’s normal “Catch ‘em all” RPG gameplay to one more comparable to an action adventure game.Ī sequel to PokéPark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure, PokéPark 2 starts off with Pikachu and his friend Piplup going on a trip to a new PokéPark, only to hear about an amazing new attraction called the Wish Park. Games such as Mystery Dungeon and Trozei have taken the various characters we know and love and planted them in very different settings, with mixed results. Since then, the Pokécraze has definitely faded, but it seems that Nintendo has been getting more adventurous with their very important (and lucrative) franchise. The attractions however, have been enhanced greatly and now include functionality for four-player multiplayer but tend to have you controlling either Pikachu, Snivy, Tepig and Oshawott.I, probably like most people reading this review, grew up with Pokémon. This allows you to continue going to many areas so you can find every one of the 40 items in the game. There are also numerous items to collect, many of which you can trade with other Pokémon to obtain. it also has a special Battle Tournament which allows you to go through 10 rounds of battles, in realtime, to show your true strengths When you befriend a Pokémon, you can now use them in battle against other Pokémon. This game is less focused upon the attractions and focuses more on the exploration and befriending of Pokémon. Pikachu then has to team up with Oshawott, Snivy and Tepig to try and bring calm to PokéPark and to stop the evil that is afflicting the Wish Park. In the game, Pikachu and Piplup learn of the Wish Park, and visit there, only to find the Pokémon getting attacked and Piplup getting left behind. In the game, there are two main areas with several subareas The standard PokéPark where the Pokémon dwell, and a new world called Wish Park, which is seemingly made out of cookies and cakes and has an odd aura around it causing Pokémon to act strangely. Unlike the previous game, you don't play as just Pikachu, instead being capable of playing through the areas as Pikachu, Snivy, Tepig or Oshawott. This includes battling the Pokémon and various other features This game follows the same mechanics as the previous game and has you play as Pikachu as you travel around, encountering Pokémon and partaking in attractions. PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond is the sequel to the original Wii game PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure.
